65,000 won per month, unlimited use of public transportation and Ttareungi

The ‘Climate Companion Card’, which will be sold on a trial basis from January to May next year, costs 65,000 won and allows unlimited use of all public transportation, including subways, city and village buses, and public bicycles Ttareungi, within the Seoul area for one month.

For the convenience of citizens, it can be used not only as a physical card but also as a smartphone app. The physical card can be used by initially purchasing the card for 3,000 won and then recharging it with 65,000 won every month.

You can use subway lines 1 to 9, Gyeongui-Jungang Line, Bundang Line, Gyeongchun Line, Uisinseol Line, and Sillim Line (excluding the Shinbundang Line, which has different basic fares) that get on and off in downtown Seoul.

You can use the Gifu Companion Card if you board in Seoul and ‘get off’ in other areas such as Gyeonggi or Incheon, but if you board in areas other than Seoul, you cannot use the Gifu Companion Card.

▴In the case of buses, all Seoul city buses and village buses can be used, but buses from other regions such as Gyeonggi and Incheon or metropolitan buses with different basic fares cannot be used even within the Seoul area.

The standard for distinguishing between buses in Seoul and other regions is centered around the area where a ‘route license’ has been obtained, and you can check the corresponding licensed area by searching each bus route number. ▴Public bicycle Ttareungi can be used unlimitedly with a ‘1-hour pass’, and the city plans to expand its operation to include newly added next-generation eco-friendly transportation such as river buses in the future.
