On the fifth anniversary of his death, silence surrounds the house of the late Robert Suleiman Franjieh, that deep silence that penetrates the sides of a solo exhibition of a special group of drawings of the absent and present… In Ehden, the house looks as he left it before his departure… The entrance door is open for visitors, who were visiting it. Periodically to say hello, or more… At the entrance to the house, there is a white painting with his brush, in which incomplete faces are scattered in white colors, sometimes red, or black at other times, as if it represents loss and dispersion from what is to come or from the curse of a homeland… Everything is in Robert Franjieh’s house. It revolves around this family, rooted in the story of a homeland that has been going through difficult times since its founding until today. The house is surrounded on the balcony side by a cedar tree and some oaks and pine trees. Everything is in its place. His picture is to the right of the main living room, as he gazes warily at life… and perhaps beyond… What is the importance of his drawings? In fact, most of these abstract artistic works turned into a legacy of this politician and human being to his people, or to an environment far beyond his immediate surroundings. What did he recommend? Franjieh looked forward to crossing his Western culture into our world
