MINNEAPOLIS — Cuban Yandy Díaz hit his 20th home run of the season and finished with four hits as the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Minnesota Twins 7-4 on Monday.
Josh Lowe had three hits for the second day in a row, in Tampa Bay’s sixth win in seven games. The Rays (89-56) remained three games behind the American League East-leading Baltimore Orioles.
After starter Tyler Glasnow (9-5) exited, Kevin Kelly, Jake Diekman and Pete Fairbanks pitched a hitless inning each. Fairbanks took over the ninth for his 23rd save.
