Portugal scores nine times once morest Luxembourg
The Portuguese, without Cristiano Ronaldo, struggled in qualifying for Euro 24. They are undefeated in six matches and have scored 24 goals without conceding. In Group D, Croatia took the lead.

Portugal, deprived of suspended Cristiano Ronaldo, corrected Luxembourg 9-0 on Monday during the 6th day of qualifying for Euro 2024, breaking its record for goals scored in a single match.
During this recital delivered at the Algarve Stadium in Faro, three players scored a double: Gonçalo Inacio, notably author of the opener (12th), PSG striker Gonçalo Ramos and Liverpool striker Diogo Jota . Entering during the meeting, Ricardo Horta and Joao Felix also took part in the party, as did Bruno Fernandes. The team’s top scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo, was suspended.
It was Joao Felix, who scored in the 88th minute, establishing a new record for goals scored by the Seleçao in a single match.
With this sixth victory in as many matches, and 24 goals scored for zero conceded, the Portuguese continue their flawless journey towards Euro 2024 next summer in Germany.
In the standings, they are ahead of Slovakia (6/13), who won 3-0 once morest Liechtenstein. Luxembourg is third (6/10), followed by Bosnia-Herzegovina (6/6), overtaken by Iceland (6/6) who beat them 1-0 on Tuesday in Reykjavik.
Group D: Croatia in the lead
In Group D, Croatia took first place from Turkey following their 0-1 victory late Monday in Armenia. With 10 points in four matches, the Croats are now first ahead of the Turks (5/10).
It was Kramaric who scored the only success of the match, in the 14th minute, at the Vazgen-Sargsian Republican Stadium, in Yerevan. Third in the group with 7 points in four matches, Armenia was joined by Wales who won 0-2 in Latvia thanks to goals from Ramsey from the penalty spot (29th) and Brooks (96th).
On the next day, October 12, there will be a summit clash between Croatia and Turkey and Latvia will host Armenia.
