The five children of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who died in June, have fully accepted their father’s will. The signing of the documents took place today in Milan. This means that Berlusconi’s eldest children, Marina and Pier Silvio, have a majority stake of 53 percent in the family holding company Fininvest. The heirs committed not to change their shares in the family business over the next five years.

The five children also agreed to settle the bequests that Berlusconi had made in his will to his brother Paolo Berlusconi, his last partner Marta Fascina and his confidant Marcello Dell’Utri, according to their respective shares in their inheritance. Berlusconi left his brother and Fascina €100 million each and Dell’Utri €30 million.

Marina, Pier Silvio, Barbara, Eleonora and Luigi Berlusconi said in a statement that they had accepted their father’s legacy “in complete harmony.” They acknowledge their father’s “immense generosity.” As a result of this acceptance, the statement states, Marina and Pier Silvio Berlusconi will jointly assume indirect control of Fininvest Spa, clearly ensuring the stability and continuity of management.
