Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated games to be released in the coming weeks, but the world may not be ready for what Insomniac has prepared, according to PlayStation Studios’ sound design director. In a new post shared on LinkedIn, Jeremy Vilott talked regarding the next installment in the series, saying that he’s not sure the world is quite ready for what Insomniac is regarding to release. He added that the game is amazing and it is their best game yet. I just want to take a minute to talk to the amazing audio team at Insomniac – such an amazing and talented group of humans to work alongside. I’m not sure the world is quite ready for what they’re regarding to unleash on players – it’s stunning, and in my humble opinion, their best work to date. Good luck getting to the finish line! That’s exactly what Jeremy said, so it’ll be really interesting to see if Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 actually delivers on that. We haven’t seen much of the game yet, but there’s no doubt that it won’t have a problem distinguishing itself from its predecessor with its darker tone, new gameplay features, dual-play hero system, new Brooklyn and Queens maps, and more. With the game so close to release, we’ll likely hear more. It will be announced very soon and we will get a better look at the new special attacks, whether electric attacks or those that rely on the symbiote mentioned in the game’s ESRB rating. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will launch on PlayStation 5 worldwide on October 20. A writer who has loved video games since the days of the family device, and I prefer adventure games such as Tomb Raider and Assassins Creed (before switching to RPGs). I have no bias towards any home device, and for me the best is the one that offers the most distinctive games. What matters to me are experiences with interesting storytelling, as the story is the basis of enjoyment more than the gameplay.
