Star Academy Season 2: Resurrection of the Popular TV Show with Exciting Updates and Extended Duration

It’s no longer a secret for a while, the new Star Academy season will begin on November 4 on TF1, due to the Rugby World Cup. This will be the second edition since the resurrection of the program last year. A revival which recorded good audiences, 20 years following the concept was first put on the air.

Guest on C8, Alexia Laroche-Joubert, the former director of Star Ac’ and new boss of Banijay France, of which Endemol France is a subsidiary, gave some information concerning the upcoming promotion. First observation: we push ourselves to the gate to participate in the show. No less than 20,000 applications reached production. And among the potential candidates, “there is a very high level”, she explained, while specifying that in recent days casting sessions have still been organized.

When the program was resurrected, producers received 10,000 applications in just 48 hours!

She also confirmed the rumor that has been circulating since the end of the previous season: the program will be longer than when it returned last year. It is regarding fifteen weeks, she said.

There will also be more participants, 13 according to what she said, and it is “very likely” that they will spend Christmas in the Château des Vives-Eaux in Dammarie-les-Lys, renovated for the occasion. .

This will not be a first since this is already what the candidates of the very first promotion had experienced. They stayed in the castle from October 20, 2001 to January 12, 2002. Those from seasons 7 and 9 also spent the end of year holidays in Star Ac’ mode.

A board twice as big

Another confirmed rumor: more staracademicians means a bigger field. Twice as big. On the other hand, what does not change is the tandem of presenters. At the helm, there will always be Nikos Aliagas, while Karima Charni will be in charge of the After, that is to say the part of the show which escorts the Star Ac’ students back to the castle.

On the faculty side, Yanis Marshall, dance teacher and Adeline Toniutti, who teaches singing, are back, as is Michael Goldman as director. For all the others, including the Belgian Pierre de Bauer, theater professor, it is a big question mark that prevails.
