A10 and B179 mainly affected
Vienna (OTS) – The last day of vacation in southern and western Austria as well as in two German federal states had an impact on our transit routes.
The return journey is well underway, but there is still a lot going on to the south, according to the ÖAMTC mobility information.
On the A10, the Tauern Autobahn, progress towards Salzburg was slow, for example between Flachau andwerfen; block handling was activated before the Helbersberg tunnel. It then took a little longer on the West Autobahn (A1), at the Walserberg border crossing.
There were still many holidaymakers heading towards Slovenia on the Karawanken Autobahn (A11), and there were delays of up to thirty minutes when leaving.
In Tyrol, the ÖAMTC traffic experts recorded heavy traffic on the Fernpass road (B179) in both directions. From the Füssen border tunnel there was slow traffic to Reutte and in the opposite direction those driving home from Nassereith had to reckon with traffic jams. Patience was required on the Brenner Autobahn (A13) between Innsbruck Süd and the Schönberg toll booth. At the Kufstein – Kiefersfelden border crossing, the club reported a column regarding six kilometers long heading towards Germany.
Reschen Straße (B180) had to be closed following a serious accident near Ried in the Oberinntal. The ÖAMTC traffic experts appeal to everyone who is on the road to drive with particular foresight and take breaks if necessary.
