He was one of the strong men of the 12 strokes of noon. In 2017, Timothée won 353,348 euros in winnings and gifts in 83 participations. The farmer from Aveyron, who also distinguished himself in Questions pour un champion without experiencing the same success, returns this Saturday, September 9 at 9:10 p.m. in Le Quiz des champions presented by Cyril Féraud. For his second participation, the 30-year-old candidate was a formidable opponent, since he managed to reach the final once morest Enzo, the record holder for Grand Slam victories. It was ultimately the latter who won the trophy and 20,000 euros to be donated to Sidaction. For Télé-Loisirs, the former Maître de midi took stock of his adventure.
Timothée on the Grand Slam candidate: “Enzo was looking for his victory”
Télé-Loisirs: You came close to victory for the second time. How did you experience this second place?
Timothée: It leaves a bit of a bitter taste in that in the end, it didn’t amount to much. Last year, I was beaten pretty clearly. This was a golden opportunity to secure a great victory. But with a little hindsight, I’m happy to have made it to the final. It’s a game where there is a level with candidates who all have a very good general knowledge.

What do you think you missed?
There were answers to some of my questions that I might have had if I had thought better. Sometimes there is a bit of luck in drawing questions. There is also a little fatigue. The filming is long and it might have played tricks on me… But Enzo had a very good run from the first to the last round. He sought his victory and he totally deserved it.
What made you want to take part in the Champions Quiz once more?
The concept of the show is very interesting. It allowed me to meet candidates from other TV games and to confront them. The sleeves are varied too. There are all the ingredients to have a good time both from the point of view of the candidates and the viewers.
Is there a participant you particularly feared?
Among those I knew, there was Paul (El Kharrat, Editor’s note) whom I particularly feared because we had already crossed paths. There is also the incredible level of Nicolas whom I followed in the last Questions for a Champion. But in this game, there are no truly inferior candidates.

Timothée returns to Le Combat des maîtres (Les 12 coups de midi): “The competition aspect takes a back seat”
Did you take any preparation for the Champions Quiz?
To be honest, no, I didn’t really have time. I still try to keep some practice for the games by watching them and trying to respond but I hadn’t done any specific preparation.
You also returned this year in Le Combat des maîtres which brings together the great champions of the 12 Coups de midi. Would you say that The Champions Quiz is more difficult?
It’s hard to compare. There are a lot of champions from the 12 coups de Midi who would have their place in the Champions Quiz. But Le Combat des maîtres is a little more focused on fun, on reunions between friends because we formed a very good group so personally, when I go to 12 coups de midi, I would say that the aspect competition really takes a back seat. It’s mainly to meet up with friends.

Would Timothée want to try another edition of the Champions Quiz despite his defeat? He answers
Did you have the opportunity to meet Cyril Féraud off-air?
We chat a little bit because each time, Cyril Féraud comes to see the candidates before participation. They come to give us confidence, greet us and thank us for our participation. That’s nice of him.
You mentioned your celibacy in Les 12 coups de midi… Could you apply for L’Amour est dans le pré?
No, I don’t see myself participating in it at all. When I’m on TV, it’s to play. I prefer to keep my personal life to myself.
Do you plan to participate in another TV game show?
Next year, I would like to try my luck once more at Questions for a Champion. But it’s not at all a fixed idea because I have a busy life. Participating in TV games is very exciting but it takes time so I have to be able to impose barriers on myself.
Are you still up for a new issue of the Champions Quiz?
Of course, if I’m lucky enough to be invited.
