“Go away, thieves”: Kirchnerist militants had a bad time at a fair in Recoleta

Hay postalsimple, almost in passing, which serve to explain why Javier Milei won in the PASO, surprising not only consultants and specialists, but politicians who not only surfed the “let them all go”, but turned it into an art “no one leaves.” And this Saturday around noon, in the small square that joins Anchorena, Cabrera and Paraguay streets, a brief scene revealed that social climate.

Next door is the beautiful Plaza Monseñor De Andrea, which with its kennel, its merry-go-round, the small amphitheater, the children’s games and those gymnastics equipment is a party on the weekends. There, on Saturdays, traffic is cut off very early through Anchorena from Córdoba Avenue to Cabrera, so that one of the City’s fairs can operate even when turning through Paraguay, with greengrocers, cold cuts, cleaning and so on, visited by many people who stand in lines trying to to save something, in this new pandemic, also dangerous, the inflationary one.

The truth is that on a sidewalk in the small square of Anchorena and Cabrera, a few meters from where the fair’s customers were, some Kirchnerist militants appeared, parasol at the ready, for “put the body” and campaign “militating in the street” a Union for the Fatherland. They set up the little table, slowly opened the umbrella, a couple of folding chairs, the voting ballots on the table, and they decided to play as visitors and, since we are talking regarding being next to the fair, they began to try to sell Kirchnerism.

Under the tree, the light blue and white umbrella of the K militants’ stand sparked anger among many fair customers.

The first to start shouting was an older man, with the bag in the row of cold cuts and cheeses: “You still dare to come… you…” And he extended that ‘you guys’, showing that the matter came with accumulated anger. “Thieves”shot without anesthesia, “They stole everything and on top of that they come here to do propaganda?”

The matter escalated, a woman immediately joined in, already linking the ruling party with the prices of the fair, always somewhat cheaper but also sky-high, awarding the K militants that backpack as well: “Look at what everything is like, you have no shame, how can it be, go away, they are thieves…”.

Willing to endure the rain, the militants tried some lukewarm responses, always in measured tonetrying not to generate more insults and for the situation to cool down, but from some nearby balconies insults also began to rain down on them, the “thieves”, and even a neighbor threatened when they responded “now down…“.

The truth is that this kind of ‘survey’, without intermediaries and difficult to tie, showed the Kirchnerist militants that, also seeing how expensive everything was and how unempathetic the clientele was, it was better to go with the umbrella somewhere else. Less than an hour later they broke camp, and so they talked once more regarding how expensive ham and port salut were. And not to mention the reggianito.
