Geological expert Tony Nimr published a post on his account on the “X” platform in which he explained the reasons for the failure of some dams.

As for the Bisri Dam, he pointed out that it is “designed to be built at the junction of two seismic faults (the Bisri Fault and the Rum Fault), which is the fulcrum of the March 16, 1956 earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8. The site is very dangerous in terms of the possibility of the dam’s waters stimulating seismic movement on the existing faults.”
