(Agence Ecofin) – In Ivory Coast, the British agro-industrial company Dekel Agri-Vision announced sales of crude palm oil (CPO) of 1,416 tonnes during the month of August, a level in increase of almost 56% year over year. According to the company, this jump is linked to the good performance of its project in Ayenouan which recorded a 6th consecutive month of increase in CPO production.
The Palm Oil Operation delivered a 6th consecutive month of stronger like for like production in August 2023 compared to August 2022 recording increases in Crude Palm Oil (‘CPO’) and Palm Kernel Oil (‘PKO’) production of 38.3% and 103.3% respectively.#DKL #PalmOil #Cashew pic.twitter.com/PKjTjB8oNP

For the company, the increase in shipped volumes helped offset the drop in average CPO prices on the international market. A tonne of the raw material thus traded around 822 euros ($881) in August compared to 1,030 euros ($1,100) in July.
More generally, it should be noted that Dekel Agri-Vision’s palm kernel oil production doubled in August to 185 tonnes while sales of the product increased from 67 to 815 tonnes.
