ICC Announces Match Officials for ODI World Cup 2022: Complete List and Key Details

Dubai: ICC has released the list of match officials for the ODI World Cup starting next month. ICC released the list of 16 umpires and four match referees. There is only one Indian on the ICC list as an umpire. Nitin Menonan, a Malayali umpire, is the only Indian umpire officiating the match in the World Cup. India’s Javagal Srinath is also on the list as match referee.

Christopher Gaffani (New Zealand), Kumar Dharmasena (Sri Lanka), Marais Erasmus (South Africa), Michael Gough (England), Nitin Menon (India), Paul Reiffel (Australia), Richard Illingworth (England), Richard Kettleborough (England), Rodney Tucker (Australia), Joel Wilson (West Indies), Ahsan Raza (Pakistan) and Adrian Holdstock (South Africa) will be the main umpires officiating the World Cup matches. Sharfuddaulah Ibne Shahid (Bangladesh), Paul Wilson (Australia), Alex Wharf (England) and Chris Brown (New Zealand) will join the 16-member umpire list on the ICC Emerging Umpires List.

The match referees are Jeff Crowe (New Zealand), Andy Pycroft (Zimbabwe), Richie Richardson (West Indies) and Javagal Srinath (India). Only Aleem Dar, who controlled the matches in the 2019 ODI World Cup, was out this time. Aleem Dare was dropped from the ICC elite list last March.
