“If they go on strike, then the receipt of all auto parts and components that Mexico sends to Ford, General Motores and Stellantis in the United States automatically stops,” Bustamante said.
He added that it is also expected that there might be stoppages in some production lines in Mexico, due to the reduction in demand, but that depends on how long the strike they intend to carry out lasts.
The former president of the National Auto Parts Industry (INA), stressed that in the case of the United States it is estimated that there would be losses of 5 billion dollars due to the impact that would be recorded throughout the chain of suppliers in that country .
The workers promoting the strike belong to the US union United Auto Workers (UAW).
