Four Swiss boats made it to the final of the world championships in Belgrade. This allows Switzerland to have a quota of four places at the Paris Olympics.

Raphaël Ahumada and Jan Schäuble in the lightweight double sculls, as well as Andrin Gulich and Roman Röösli in the coxless pair, were strong and qualified for the final as winners and runners-up respectively.

In quadruple sculls, men and women also managed to qualify for the final. Celia Dupré, Pascale Walker, Lisa Lötscher and Fabienne Schweizer secured second place in the semi-finals, while Maurin Lange, Jan Jonah Plock, Scott Bärlocher and Dominic Condrau took 3rd place.

Andri Struzina, in the lightweight single scull (non-Olympic category), won his semi-final. Geneva’s Eline Rol finished 5th in her half and missed the final, as did the women’s lightweight double sculls (6th) and the men’s coxless four (5th).
