30 young people killed in 14 months: CNRD ”insensitive” to the tragedy on the Axis

From Thierno Mamadou Diallo, on June 1, 2022, in Hamdallaye, on the sidelines of a demonstration once morest rising fuel prices in Mamadou Tanou Diallo, on September 5, 2023, in Wanindara, in all, 30 young people were ”killed” ‘ during demonstrations once morest the unilateral management of the transition by the CNRD.

The junta led by Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya shows no compassion for the bereaved families. Instead of conducting investigations, we are trying to criminalize the victims. To do this, the scapegoat is all found, we try to reject everything on the Living Forces of Guinea who call for demonstrations. Meanwhile, the perpetrators of these “targeted killings” are free.

Another 4 dead, this Tuesday, September 5, 2023, more on the Leprince Axis in the town of Ratoma. The families of the victims are inconsolable. Why so many deaths in the same area? Why is the SDF so trigger-happy on the Axis? Why do the authorities of the transition not carry out investigations to identify and punish the perpetrators? Demonstrations are organized everywhere, why is it only on the Axis we kill? So many unanswered questions.

On Sunday August 13, 2023, there was a demonstration in support of the Cnrd in Kankan, the region of origin of Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, which had not been the subject of any information from the local authorities, however, on this side, the Defense and security forces did not intervene. The governor of the region has also come to the defense of the demonstrators. “Our children acted out of enthusiasm. I ask the national and international authority to accept the forgiveness of the children”, he pleaded with the Cnrd.

In response to this demonstration of support for the junta, several young people from the former ruling party, the Rainbow RPG, went to downtown Conakry on Monday August 14, 2023, to denounce the “ dictatorship” of Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, president of the Guinean transition. These demanded the return to constitutional order and the cessation of legal proceedings once morest former dignitaries, most of whom are in prison. This other demonstration was not the subject of any prior information from the authorities, however there is no police intervention. None of the things we would see if it was on the Axis.

Minister Mory Condé of the Territorial Administration went out the day before to recall the ban on demonstrations, yet there was the concert at the esplanade of the Palais du peuple, on September 5, 2023 on the occasion of the year 2 of the CNRD.

At the same time, young people wanted to demonstrate their fed up with the unilateral management of the transition in the commune of Ratoma.
The intervention of the Defense and Security Forces resulted in 4 people “killed by bullets”. Why these two weights, two measures? Are the inhabitants of the Axis less Guinean than those of the other communes of the country? When will this tragedy end?
In the absence of justice to explain the reasons for these “targeted assassinations”, some have discerned, through the names of the victims, a repression with ethnic connotations which must end in the name of social cohesion.
