New research recently conducted by SellCell indicates that a considerable number of users of Android would you be considering “jumping over the wall” and buying one of the new “iPhones 15”in case they really arrive with a port USB-C.
The vehicle interviewed regarding 1,000 users of both iPhones and Android smartphones. The results, in turn, show that the “new” connector will indeed be a determining factor for the upgrade this year.
Of the iPhone users surveyed, 66% said they would consider, yes, buying one of the “iPhones 15”. Of these, impressive 63% stated that the main reason is precisely the arrival of the USB-C port — which would mean recharging not only the iPhone, but also an iPad and a MacBook with the same cable (advantage mentioned by 37% those who are keeping an eye on the news).
However, it’s among Android smartphone users that things get really interesting. According to the data, 44% of them said they would be tempted to migrate to the Apple smartphone if it adopts USB-C.
Of these, 35% stated that they would only do this if the new devices are compatible with chargers made for devices from other manufacturers. At the same time, 34% said they are likely to upgrade if the rumors come true at next week’s special event.
A small portion of users on both platforms said they don’t mind switching from the Lightning port to the USB-C port as they use wireless charging to power their devices. Meanwhile, 38% of iPhone users and 74% of Android users said they are happy with their current device and have no plans to buy another one right now.
