Affordable Flats and Apartments for Rent in Bahrain: Decreased Demand Leads to Lower Rental Rates

2023-09-06 16:48:59

Manama: As the demand for flats decreased in Bahrain, the rental rates also decreased. This is due to the decrease in the number of expatriates living with their families. With this, the rental rates of flats and apartments have come down, according to real estate company representatives and agents.

In the town areas, many apartments and villas, which used to charge 500 dinars to 1000 dinars, are now available for 350 dinars to 700 dinars, and fully furnished double-room flats, which used to charge 400 dinars to 600 dinars, are now available for 250 dinars to 400 dinars. Flats are now available at even lower rates in inner areas such as Budaiya, Galali and Tashan. With the cost of living rising, many expats have vacated flats and moved into bachelor accommodation, which has also led to lower rents.

With the removal of government subsidy for electricity and water usage, the steep rise in water and electricity bills along with flat rents has also led to the exodus of families. Expats now mostly prefer buildings with fully furnished unlimited with electricity rent. Flats are available at cheap rates but lack of parking facilities is another problem.
