After the mobile phone signature and the citizen card, the ID Austria is version two of the Austrian digital ID cards, so to speak. Time-consuming administrative procedures and long bureaucratic paths should be a thing of the past. The application soon passed the pilot phase and, according to State Secretary Florian Tursky (ÖVP), is also “on safe ground” in terms of data protection.
