A flight with… gastric turbulence! The passengers of the flight connecting Atlanta to Barcelona are still amazed: their flight turned around following two hours of flight following gastric problems of one of the passengers. “We had a passenger who had diarrhea and it’s all over the plane, so they want us to fly back to Atlanta,” said the pilot of a Delta Airlines flight that was to connect the city of Atlanta. to that of Barcelona last Friday.

After two hours of flight, the Airbus A350 therefore turned around and landed in an emergency on the runways of Atlanta airport as reported by Le journal de Montréal.

“This is a health risk problem,” the pilot justified to the air traffic controller, in a recording shared on the X social network (formerly Twitter) and reported by the New York Post.

The man in question was sick and suffered from so-called “explosive” diarrhea, which meant that he might not reach the toilet before it started. The corridor of a large part of the plane was therefore soiled with excrement.

The plane returned to Atlanta, all passengers were evacuated, and the patient was taken care of by medical personnel on the airport tarmac. Airline crews then cleaned the plane and even completely replaced the carpet in the plane’s main aisle that had been soiled.

After several hours of waiting, the passengers were able to leave on the plane, all clean and arrived at their destination eight hours late.
