“Volkswagen, Toyota, Ford, Nissan, General Motors, Peugeot-Citroen, FCA Automobiles and Renault have already joined, which in a shared effort with the Argentine State, accompany this agreement that aims to take care of our national production and sustain consumption”, added.

In August, the national production of vehicles reached 63,455 units, 17.4% more than the same month of 2022 and 28.8% above July, the Association of Automotive Factories (Adefa) reported on Tuesday.

In the accumulated of the first eight months of the year, production was 408,486 vehicles, with an increase of 19.5% compared to the 341,788 units in the same period of 2022.

For their part, exports in August had an improvement of 0.7% in relation to July and a decrease of 11.1% year-on-year.

When comparing the first eight months of 2023 with respect to the same period of 2022, sales of domestic vehicles abroad grew 7.2%.
