The director of the Media Focal Center, Salem Zahran, wrote on his account via the “x” platform: “A Qatari delegate will land in Beirut within 48 hours, followed by Le Drian next week.”
Zahran added, “Two visits chart the way for the next presidential stage, but the parliament’s mosaic composition and the size of the divergence between the blocs do not bode well soon.”
Zahran concluded, “Accordingly, September will not have a party to the presidency wet and behind-the-scenes efforts to agree on one or more candidates within a short list of no more than 5 candidates to run for the presidential race according to international time.”
