Hogwarts Legacy was released in February this year and became the best selling game in Europe in the first half. That success excited developer Avalanche Software and distributor Warner Bros. Entertainment, and there’s already talk of a sequel.
The rumor comes from leaker MyTimeToShineHello, who has an excellent track record of getting his leaks right. While the leaker hasn’t divulged many details, it can be assumed that his sources at Warner Bros have already confirmed the development of a new game.
So we don’t know many details regarding a potential sequel as this is the first we’ve heard of it. Still, the information of a continuation does not cause any strangeness, given the immense popularity that the first Hogwarts Legacy gained.
However, one should not expect a release date any time soon, as the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery developer David Zaslav has previously commented on his commitment to creating a “perfect” game, even if it takes more development time.
Considering the normal development schedule for a AAA game, we might have to wait three to four years to be able to check out a possible Hogwarts Legacy 2. Therefore, Harry Potter fans need to have a lot of patience for a new game.
Meanwhile, the first game is available for PCs, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One. The game will also be released for Nintendo Switch in November.following a delay of four months in relation to the previously foreseen date.
