Gender reveal parties are a huge trend overseas. Many Americans want to announce their baby’s gender before it’s born at a party with friends and family. Countless videos of such events are circulating on social media, and the ideas are becoming more and more unusual.
But with the ever more creative ideas, the gender reveal parties are also becoming increasingly dangerous. A Mexican couple hired a small plane to find out if they were expecting a boy or girl.
The pilot flew overhead, emitting a pink powder. The two can look forward to a daughter. But shortly following, tragedy struck.
The plane suddenly shot up and then turned on its side. As a result, one of the wings broke apart in mid-air and the pilot crashed behind the palm trees. Surprisingly, the party guests initially didn’t notice anything regarding the accident.
The gender reveal was of course captured on video for posterity. After the color drop, the cameraman panned directly back to the parents-to-be. The plane crash was accompanied by cheers, the couple were still hugging.
Pilot Luis Angel N., 32, was the only person on the plane, according to local media. He died in hospital following the crash.
