Oman Long-Term Residency: Attracting Foreign Investors and Expertise in Various Fields

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has announced that more than 2,700 foreigners have been granted long-term residency cards in Oman so far. Visas are granted to foreign investors and those who have demonstrated expertise in different fields.

183 people from the health sector, including doctors, have also received long-term visas. The long-term visa was introduced to attract foreign investors to grow domestic products and create jobs. Applications for long-term visas were accepted through the ministry’s portal from October 2021. Oman allows visas for five and ten years.

Investigations to detect violators remain vigorous; 104 expatriates arrested

KUWAIT CITY: Investigations to find lawbreakers in Kuwait continue to be vigorous. 104 people were arrested for violating residency and employment laws. They were caught during an inspection conducted by the General Administration of Residency Affairs Investigations in Farwaniya, Al Ahmadi and Capital areas.

According to the General Administration of Security Relations and Media, two people were arrested for violating the residency law during the ongoing inspection campaigns in hotels. The Search and Investigation Department also arrested an Asian national who was selling local liquor in Abu Halifa area. 70 bottles of locally produced liquor were seized from him. All those arrested have been referred to the concerned authority for further action.
