Director Chad Stahelski had a lot to say regarding a potential John Wick sequel during his discussion on an episode of Happy Sad Confused (thanks, Screenrant). He believes that there needs to be a good reason for returning to the role. Here’s what he said: “I don’t see any reason for John Wick to come back without a real reason. Like the reason has to — don’t let you off the hook — it has to draw people back. Because I think most of the audience wants Seeing Keanu come back, they just don’t want to be treated like idiots. We at Gamereactor obviously love John Wick and it would be exciting to have a great fifth movie and a reason to return. Another A director named Antoine Fuqua (of The Equalizer 3 fame) spoke highly of John Wick’s potential crossover with CBR. He said, “It’s an interesting question. I think John Wick will be fun. They are very different. If McCall needs some weapons or guns, I’ll let John do that. When it comes to close range brutality, let McCall handle it. They are very different. There are many opinions in the film industry regarding what the brand should do. With a TV spin-off on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether we’ll see something new in the film world.
