Summer regains strength and vigor at the beginning of September with the arrival of a new heat wave which should last all week to come. With copious and regular watering, my balcony looks more and more like a small urban jungle, and the blooms are still generous.
Some views from the Bassin de la Villette side, the southernmost and sunny side.
I still manage to move all along my balcony, this year I didn’t put a hotpot on the ground and I did well, because the plants have grown a lot and are taking their ease. From time to time, I have to curb all this beautiful little world with a few scissors and a few links.
A few views from the north side, with my variegated foliage hops at the very bottom that I have to contain every week to prevent them from going to the neighbors or on the roof of the building. Vigorous guys, especially when they are watered regularly…
One of my beautiful ‘Nanouk’ miseries, which following a rather slow start, catches up and grows in all directions with a festival of colors.
My ivy (Hedera helix ‘Reef Shell’) also took a while to get started, but the summer has been good for it and its very marked variegation is really beautiful.
Summer asters (Aster x frikartii ‘Mönch’) with a large stump of splendid King ‘Lime’ coleus.
Coleus and spurge ‘Diamond Frost’, the latter growing very fast now.
Another unnamed coleus that chose freedom by sprouting outside the balcony and railing, in the company of night glories.
And here is the northernmost part of my balcony with the view of the horizon and the immensity of the Parisian sky.
I did a copious watering yesterday evening, I should be quiet for two days, hardly more because we are told temperatures of 30°C for several days. My balcony still has a bright future ahead of it!
