Among the matches of the day, the opposition between Germany and Slovenia was one of the clashes to follow. Admittedly, both teams had already qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Cup, but only one might remain undefeated to finish first in its group. And this team is Germany!
The statistics of the match, it’s right here
If we had been told at the end of the first quarter that the Germans – deprived of Franz Wagner – were going to beat Slovenia by almost 30 pawns, we would not have believed it. Luka Doncic did pretty much what he wanted once morest poor Isaac Bonga, Dennis Schroder got confused with Daniel Theis and his coach during a time-out, and the score already indicated +14 for the Slovenians.
And then everything changed.
A huge second quarter of the Germans: 27 to 9!
The game rocks, Slovenia behind in the score at half-time, Luka who glares at everyone and Schroder who claps his hands while laughing.
Can’t wait to see more ????????????

Yes, you read that right: the Germans beat the Slovenians 27-9 in the space of ten minutes, and the gang in Luka never managed to recover. But what happened for the match to change its appearance radically like that?
So first, Schroder and Theis put their differences aside to transform into Shaq and Kobe (we’re hardly exaggerating). Dennis the Malice (24 points, 10 assists) has made miseries for the Slovenians, not only in scoring but especially in creation, and Theis has greatly benefited from the caviars of his leader. Then, while the German collective was waking up (26 assists, 55% shooting, 15/31 from 3-pointers), Slovenia became a little too Luka-dependent: not enough movement, too many sterile possessions, necessarily it’s not great, especially with a clumsy Doncic at 3-point (23 points at 9/22 including 2/11 from the parking lot) and who also seemed diminished by a sore thigh. Finally, you add to that a real domination of the Germans on the rebound (39-28 in the end), and you understand why they managed to take off.
27-9 for Germany in the second quarter, then 30-18 in the third, and 32-19 in the last. Ouch, it stings a lot! Frustrated, overwhelmed, demobilized, the Slovenes lived through an ordeal while Schroder, Mo Wagner, Isaac Bonga and Co. had their fun like never before. So it’s 100-71 in the end. A hell of a slap for Slovenia, but above all a big message sent by Germany before the quarter-finals.
I just want to have a Dennis Schröder, Daniel Theis type of connection in my life ???????? #FIBAWC x #WinForDeutschland ???????? pic.twitter.com/5bMD7GRSI1

With this success, the Germans finished first in their group at the end of the second group stage, while Slovenia had to settle for second place. What does that mean next? That Germany will play the second in Group L, and that the Slovenians will play once morest the first (in Manila). It will be either Latvia, Spain or Canada.
Long live the sequel!
