These two stars manage to escape from the mud hell
Tens of thousands of visitors to the desert festival Burning Man are stranded following heavy rains. All entrances are blocked. Chris Rock and Diplo were able to free themselves anyway.

Because of the heavy rains, the desert festival Burning Man has turned into a mud fight.
US comedian Chris Rock (58) and musician Diplo (44) managed to get out of the disaster area.
A video shows the two fleeing together in the overcrowded loading area of a pick-up truck.
Heavy rain left the Burning Man festival site in the desert of the US state of Nevada sink in the mud. Tens of thousands of visitors are now stuck there and hope to be evacuated soon. The local sheriff’s office announced that all access to the site was closed, and the festival organizers called on the trapped guests to use water, food and fuel sparingly. According to media reports, around 70,000 people are stuck on the site.
Escape from mud hell on pickup truck
Up close insights into the situation on site were given on Saturday by the US-Comedian Chris Rock (58) and the musician Diplo (44), who managed to get out of the disaster area. On Instagram, Diplo posted a video of their escape together in the crowded bed of a pick-up.
He commented, “I actually walked the curb for hours with my thumbs up because I have a show in Washington tonight and I didn’t want to let you guys down. Kudos also to this guy for making the smart purchase of a truck not knowing he was there for that moment.”

The organizers called on festival guests on Saturday to “save food, water and fuel” and to seek shelter in a “warm, safe place”. The rain was expected to continue until Sunday evening.

“Don’t travel to Black Rock City!” the organizers warned, using the name of the festival site on Twitter, which was renamed “X”.

Muddy impressions of the festival grounds
Before fleeing, his colleague Chris Rock had documented the mud desert of the festival in several Instagram stories and stated, among other things, that due to the flooding at the moment also the toilets on the site might no longer be emptied. In addition, it is almost impossible to move through the mud masses on foot.
The annual Burning Man Festival started on August 27th under difficult conditions and was scheduled to end on September 4th. The weather thwarted these plans.
One person died at Burning Man arts and music festival, which was hit by heavy rains. The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office said it was investigating the case, but didn’t provide any details Saturday night (local time). It was initially unclear who died and what the cause was. The authorities blocked the festival site for cars, which meant that the portable toilets set up for thousands of visitors might no longer be serviced, the newspaper “Reno Gazette Journal” reported.
According to the weather service, more than 125 liters of rain per square meter fell on the festival site in a desert area 177 kilometers north of Reno on Friday. Participants waded through the mud, many barefoot or with plastic bags around their feet. Guests have been urged to take shelter on the spot and conserve food, water and other supplies.
