Chevrons legend Heath Streak has passed away. His partner Nadine Streak confirmed the death. Streak’s demise has been reported by various national and international media outlets. Streak, who was suffering from cancer, came back at the age of 49 leaving the cricket world in tears.

Nadine Streak shared the news of Heath Streak’s death with the world by sharing a very emotional note on social media.

The star was a pillar of the team during the golden era of Zimbabwean cricket. The star, who made his debut in international cricket in 1993, bid farewell to the Chevrons jersey in 2005.

Streak played 65 Tests and 189 ODIs for Zimbabwe, scoring 4,933 runs and 455 wickets. He still holds the record as the highest wicket-taker for Zimbabwe in international cricket.

After retiring from international cricket, the actor also shone in the role of a coach. He has coached domestic teams as well as Bangladesh and Zimbabwe teams. He also served as the bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL.

Earlier, there were fake news that Heath Streak had passed away. But former Zimbabwe star Henty Olonka has confirmed that this is wrong.

Olonka said Heath Streak is alive and well. Olonka made this known by sharing a WhatsApp chat with Streak. Olonka also shared the news of Heath Streak’s passing on X Platform.

‘Rumours of the demise of the heath streak are exaggerated. I got confirmation on the matter. I talked to him. The third umpire has called him back. He is alive,’ Olonka tweeted at the time.
