If you are pregnant with a child who is at risk for food allergies or parent of a child who suffers from allergic rhinitis, discover two natural ways to limit or even avoid treatments with antihistamines and other corticosteroid sprays.
Prevent food allergies in children during pregnancy with omega-3s
The scientific literature already showed us that omega-3 supplementation modulates immune responses and prevents food allergies in children. But the results remained inconsistent and required further investigation, in particular to know whether supplementation is more effective during pregnancy, or followingwards, during childhood. This deepening of the subject, a team of Taiwanese researchers carried out in compiling 128 scientific studies on the impact of omega-3 supplementation during pregnancy, and the risk of developing a food allergy in the unborn child.
Result : children of women who supplement with omega-3s during pregnancy and breastfeeding have a significantly reduced risk of developing a food allergy to eggs or peanuts (1.6 to 1.7 times less likely to develop them). Regarding egg allergy, there seems to be a direct link with maternal omega-3 supplementation. On the other hand, the fact that the child consumes omega-3 following birth does not seem to protect him significantly once morest food allergies.

Prevent baby allergies naturally
In addition to these benefits, omega-3 supplementation during pregnancy has many other advantages : it reduces the risk of premature births, death and helps to normalize the weight of the unborn child (it reduces the risk that the baby is born with too low or too high a weight).
Since omega-3s are not synthesized naturally by the human body, you find them in hemp, walnut and rapeseed oil, but also in fatty fish, seafood, nuts and eggs from hens fed on linseed.

During childhood, probiotics once morest allergic rhinitis
If you already have a child and he unfortunately suffers from allergic rhinitis, like 20% of our fellow citizens, it might be interesting to look into the properties of certain probiotics. Italian researchers tell us that probiotics, alone or in combination with antihistamines (which are the standard treatment for allergic rhinitis)can alleviate allergic symptoms and reduce the frequency and duration of episodes in children. Although it is not known exactly how these lactic acid bacteria impact the immune system, probiotics remain a good adjunctive treatment to improve the quality of life without causing adverse effects.
Although no specific strain of lactobacillus is more effective than another in this regard, the probiotics which seem to improve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis in children are the so-called lactic acid bacteria (“lactobacilli”).
