Lahore – The Pakistan Cricket Board has been heavily criticized for the jerseys of the teams in Asia Cup cricket. The absence of host Pakistan’s name along with the Asia Cup logo on the jerseys of the teams participating in the tournament has angered Pakistani fans. Usually the name and logo of the country hosting a tournament is included on every team’s jersey.

Although Pakistan is the host, most of the Asia Cup matches are played in Sri Lanka. Only four matches of the tournament will be played in Pakistan. All major matches were shifted to Sri Lanka due to strong opposition from BCCI. Former cricketers have come out once morest not including Pakistan’s name on the team jerseys.

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif told news agency PTI that the move by the Asian Cricket Council is unacceptable and the ACC should give an explanation. It is reported that the ACC decided not to put the name of the hosts on the jersey following the last Asia Cup. Sri Lanka was the host in Asia Cup held in UAE in 2022

Sri Lanka’s name was also included in the teams’ jerseys at that time. There is also criticism that such a move is because the BCCI is once morest Pakistan’s name on the jerseys of the Indian players.
