The German World Championships eighth Henrik Janssen landed on the places with 62.99 and the Lithuanian Martynas Alekna, brother of the World Championships third Mykolas Alekna, with reached 62.14 m.

It was Weißhaidinger’s tenth win of the season, achieved in pouring rain. The German Rio Olympic champion Christoph Harting was also among the defeated with 60.43 m. “I’m happy and a bit proud that I defied the difficult conditions,” said the winner. “Technically, things didn’t really go well for me today either. But the distance is impressive in the rain and cold and damp conditions.” Weißhaidinger travels to his home town of Taufkirchen that night, where he will throw on Sunday (2:00 p.m.).
