Milwaukee Bucks Sign Alex Antetokounmpo: Joining Giannis and Thanasis for Training Camp

There are never enough Antetokounmpos in Milwaukee, so the Bucks decided to sign the youngest of the siblings. Alex Antetokounmpo has indeed won a small contract to join his brothers Giannis and Thanasis for the next training camp.

The news was pitched by Michael Scotto ofHoopsHype this Friday. Contract details have not been released at this time, but we are likely on an unsecured deal that will allow Alex to participate in some of the Bucks’ preparation, before possibly reuniting with Wisconsin Herd (G League) as was the case last season.

The Milwaukee Bucks signed Alex Antetokounmpo, league sources confirmed to @hoopshype. He joins brothers Thanasis and Giannis Antetokounmpo on the roster heading into training camp. He played for the G League’s Wisconsin Herd last season.

Alex Antetokounmpo was indeed not far from his brothers during the past year, he who played in the G League team affiliated with the Bucks for 32 games for weak stats of 5.8 points and 3 rebounds ( 37% shooting) in 22 minutes of play. On the other hand, he never managed to cross the threshold to evolve in the NBA. Undrafted in 2021 following his stint at CB Murcia (Spain), Alex has so far had to settle for a few appearances in the development league (at the Raptors 905, and therefore at the Wisconsin Herd).

At 22, Alex Antetokounmpo may still be dreaming of the NBA, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see him return to Greece in the future, a bit like his other brother Kostas (yes there are a lot of them…), who plays today at Panathinaikos following stints at the Mavericks, Lakers and Bulls.

Well, the Bucks have apparently signed Alex Antetokounmpo to join the siblings, and Drew Timme the Gonzaga star.

We will see the face of the contracts, I would very much like to see Timme in a specific role in the NBA. Athletic fit but it can fit in.
