The Crédit Agricole Group of Morocco announced a consolidated net banking income (NBI) of 1.9 billion dirhams at the end of June 2023, which represents a decrease of 13% compared to the same period of the previous year. The social NBI, meanwhile, stood at 1.7 billion dirhams, recording a drop of 17% compared to the end of June of the previous year, according to a press release from the banking group on its activity indicators at second quarter of 2023.
This decrease in both the consolidated accounts and the corporate accounts is mainly due to the impact of the rise in interest rates, specifies the same source.
At the end of June 2023, the Crédit Agricole du Maroc Group increased the outstanding amount of its loans distributed to 108 billion dirhams, once morest 107 billion dirhams at June 30, 2022, i.e. an increase of around one billion dirhams.
This development is mainly attributed to the financing of the agricultural and agro-industrial sector, as well as to the imports of cereals and food products by the actors of the sector, within the framework of the program aimed at combating the effects of drought (10 billion dirhams) .
The outstanding savings mobilized by the group reached 105 billion dirhams at the end of June 2023, recording an increase of 5% compared to June 30, 2022, when this outstanding amounted to 100 billion dirhams.
