JaVale McGee Joins Sacramento Kings: Revitalizing Career and Strengthening Interior Sector

Recently cut by the Mavericks, JaVale McGee has been tracked by the Sacramento Kings in recent days. A deal that has just been concluded since the veteran pivot lands well in the Californian capital.

That’s it, JaVale McGee is back in the Golden State.

After stints at Golden State and the Lakers, where he each time collected one or more champion rings (2017, 2018, 2020), McGee therefore decided to join the Sacramento Kings if we believe Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report. L’insider Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN) provided some clarification by saying it’s a veteran minimum one-year contract.

At the Kings, JaVale McGee will add depth to position 5, where he will provide an additional option to coach Mike Brown (whom he knows well from his Golden State years) in the company of Alex Len, Nerlens Noel or Neemias Queta (partially guaranteed contract). Strengthening the interior sector was a priority in Sacramento this offseason following the departures of Richaun Holmes and Chimezie Metu. The rotation now seems complete.

For JaVale, it’s an interesting new challenge in his career, he who arrives in a franchise that has just returned to the Playoffs following more than 15 years of misery and where there are now very good vibes. The 35 broom pivot will try to bring his experience, his athletic qualities, and his production under the panels, even if he comes out of his weakest season in terms of stats (4.4 points, 2.5 rebounds ), who had left the rotation of the Dallas Mavericks last year.

A win-win deal in perspective?
