Following a trend started by TikTok and YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels will soon allow Posting videos up to 10 minutes long.
The novelty was discovered by Alessandro Paluzzi, who is known for reviewing the application’s code in search of new features. With the change rolling out at any time, creators will be able to drop the current limit of just 3 minutes.
This should also put Instagram on par with competitors and allow users to watch fuller videos on the platform.

For now, there is still no prediction of when the increase to 10 minutes will be released for the public version of Instagram. Even so, Meta confirmed that it is testing the novelty internally.
With this, the expectation is that the improvement will not take too long to be implemented. On another front, the social network has also allowed creators to share comments in Stories.
In addition, the platform now complies with European Union law and allows the deactivation of the algorithm in the main feed, something that is being very desired by users in the rest of the world.
