Perfect! According to BILD information, Cologne’s first last-minute deal is fixed. Shortly before the end of the transfer (Friday, 6 p.m.) the FC Union clearer took Dominique Heintz (30) from Berlin. Heintz, who still had a contract with the Irons until 2024, is committed.
The FC is still reacting to the departure of Nikola Soldo (22), who plays on loan in Kaiserslautern. Cologne plugs the last hole in defense following realizing that Soldo is not enough for the Bundesliga.

How does Cologne plan with him?
Left footed Heintz is flexible, playing in central defense and in the back four on the left. Cologne’s defense is complete with Jeff Chabot (25), Timo Hübers (27), Luca Kilian (23) and Heintz. However, the newcomer must first come to terms with the fact that he will initially not be able to get out of the substitute role.
However, Heintz will look for his chance. Only defense boss Chabot, who Cologne signed before the season following a strong loan period, is really set at FC.

The young Elias Bakatukanda (19) is now completely behind. The Bundesliga is still too early for him. The bosses found that out during the preparation. The U19 cup winner will therefore continue to train with the pros, but will mainly be used in the U21s in the regional league.
