Brazilian plant of Gilbarco Veeder-Root is elevated to the category of global manufacturer of the brand

The new position of the Brazilian factory is recognition of the excellence standards of the processes at the factory located in the city of Barueri – SP. In practice, it means that in addition to continuing to supply the country and region, the plant Gilbarco Veeder-Root Brasilwill also export products to other countries, starting with the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

The official announcement was made during a meeting between Dave Coombe, Global President of Fueling Solutions for Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Bruno Rosas, President of the brand for Latin America.

The initiative is part of the ESG policy – in Portuguese, Environmental, Social and Governance – of Vontier – the organization to which Gilbarco Veeder-Root belongs, particularly with regard to the global decarbonization goals with which it is committed: greater efficiency of production with sustainable standards, in strategic points of the planet.

Brazilian factory reached parameters

Considering these parameters, the Brazilian factory – awarded as the best in the world, within the Vontier group in 2022 – is a natural choice. Not only because of its proximity to Europe and the United States, but mainly because of its high scores in metrics that measure crucial aspects of industrial management, with emphasis on quality, safety, inventory management and on-time delivery, items that earned it the award. .

To fulfill the new mission of becoming a factory with products and solutions for the world, keeping the focus on the needs of the local market, priority investments will be made in machinery, logistics, automation and people management. “People management, that is, our capacity to select and promote the interaction of a local, multidisciplinary team focused on developing, producing and delivering multi-products with efficiency and quality and within the standards of each importing country, will undoubtedly be one of our more interesting challenges, from which all markets will benefit, including Brazil”assesses Roses.

In the local market, the brand will remain in line

Changes and adaptations do not affect production for the local market. On the contrary, they should bring even greater gains in efficiency, technology and product offerings. New launches are already scheduled for this year, including improved and certified pumps with the new RTM – Inmetro Technical Metrological Regulation – and systems and solutions that guarantee the reliability of the quality of the fuels purchased at the service stations, offering safety to the customer and adding value to the reputation of the establishment.

The Global President reinforces the support of the Vontier Group to the region: “We are excited regarding the opportunities that Latin America offers and committed to continuing to collaborate with our local partners to drive the development and sustainable growth of the region”afirma Dave Coombe.

Bruno Rosas also highlights other gains that the global factory will bring to the local market, “There is a tendency to consider Brazil as technologically backward compared to the rest of the world. This is mainly because in other countries, the business model where the final consumer interacts with the equipment, made technologies available and implemented on a large scale. With our factory producing internationally, we will change this vision because we will bring these technologies and adjust the conditions to the Brazilian market, at accessible costs, since the development laboratories will be physically in Brazil, but acting globally”.

The first Brazilian pumps are already being tested at the Gilbarco Veeder-Root factory in the United States, and the first batch should be exported next year.
