Here are all the coins that you can find in The Last of Us 2 in the list.
In The Last of Us 2 you can collect 26 PlayStation trophies. One of them is “numismatist”. To get these, all 32 coins must be collected in the game.
Interesting: Each coin is dedicated to a US state and embossed with appropriate artwork. Fortunately, in TLoU 2 there are only said 32 coins, and not 50.
Spoilers, but still good to know: Unlike the safes, the coins are only available to Abby as a controllable character. So you can’t miss any of the coins in chapters where you don’t play Abby.

The park – reading tracks
The 1st coin.
1. Virginia Mint: You are bound to find this coin. Go through the forest as Abby until you come through a sanitary facility in the course of the story. You have to move a container to get to the building roof. The coin is on this container.
Seattle Day 1 – The Stadium
2. Coin Alaska: Abby takes her backpack and leaves her apartment. Go left and the coin is in front of the wood piles.
3. Maine Mint: Go down the stairs until you come to a place where people are washing their laundry. Ignore the next set of stairs down and keep going. The coin is on a bench.
4. New Jersey Coin: Follow the path until you go “under the tribune”. The coin lies on the floor under a large “WLF”/wolf painting.
5. Vermont Mint: Run past the shooting range into the loading zone. There is a cupboard on the left. Inside is your coin.
Seattle Day 1 – On foot
6. Kentucky Coin: You flee from some cultists, get out of the car and walk through a gate into a kind of department store warehouse. Go straight to the right. You see a table with the coin on it.
7. Massachusetts Mint (Garden Center): After the fight once morest the infected you go through an initially blocked door into the garden department of the department store. Walk straight ahead to the last checkout. On the table you will find the Thaler.
8. Ohio Coin: You come through a boathouse. After the first attempt to open a gate inevitably goes wrong, you will find a ladder on the upper floor. Place this directly once morest the wall near which you found it, climb up and you will find the coin lying on a table.
9. Indiana Coin: You leave the boathouse via the roof. Look for a construction container with a locked door. Throw in a window, climb in there and you will discover the coin lying on a desk.
Seattle Tag 1 – Die Operationsbasis
10. Munze California: After being saved from Scars by your colleagues at the gas station, you’ll find this coin in the parking lot (before continuing through the gate), behind a group of people, on the railing.
11. Coin New Mexico: After the parking lot you go through a gate and pass a small checkpoint. Go straight left, around the small group of people. You can find the coin on a green box in front of the transportable toilets.

12. South Carolina Mint: After going through the tents (the last one is the “mortuary tent”), you enter the actual building. To your left you see two people playing cards. The coin is waiting for you at the table on the far left.
Seattle Day 1 – Hostile Territory

13. In North Dakota: In the course of the story you have to climb to the 1st floor of a building via a mobile home. Directly ahead, in front of the pedestal fan, is a small cabinet. You can find the coin in his drawer.
Seattle Day 1 – The Coast
14. Alabama Coin: You leave the area with the cargo containers behind you and go up a ramp to a road. Before you head towards the Ferris wheel and jump over a chasm, go in the opposite direction, into a dead end with wrecked cars. There you will find the coin.
15. West Virginia Coin: On the second floor of the ferry you will encounter opponents once more. From the stairs you came up, if you go straight through the hallway to the right and then look to the right, you’ll see some luggage, a teddy bear and a yellow and orange Aqua Lime vending machine. The teddy guards the little treasure.
16. Utah Coin: At the top of the ferry at the last cabin structure (there are three in total: you found a safe in the first one) you have to pry open a door and climb a ladder to the top. Before exiting the ferry, turn around and walk off the roof. The coin lies on the ground behind the “crow’s nest” (a kind of high-altitude vantage point) of the ferry. So not at the top of the crow’s nest itself, but at the bottom of its “trunk”.
17. Mississippi Coin: After the ferry, head towards the aquarium. You will pass a fountain with a dolphin statue. Climb into the well to find the coin at the bottom.
Seattle Day 2 – The Shortcut
18. Münze Nevada: You leave the aquarium. Explore the area and you’ll quickly find the “Barber Shop”. Your loot is inside on the counter by the cash register.
19. Münze Colorado: After crossing the rapids via the road remnant plateaus, the story takes you to a blue building. You enter an optician’s shop. Before proceeding through a half-locked door, look through the window to the right of it. There is an awning in front of the window that you can jump on. There you will find the coin.
Seattle Day 2 – Down
20. Illinois Mint: After the climb up high, you will eventually fall into a pool and climb out (in a cutscene). Jump back into the pool and dive to the bottom. The coin is hanging on a white water filter (where you stand following the cutscene, facing the pool on the left, in front of the “No Diving” sign.
21. Oregon Coin: As you descend through the hotel, you’ll come through room 1302 with two clickers and then cross a metal strut, followed by a fight once morest a shambler and you’ll have to cross another strut. You jump down an abyss to the next level. Instead of going straight ahead, you turn around. On the other side of the abyss you see the room with the number 1107. The coin is on a small sideboard.
22. Wisconsin Coin: The descent has been successful so far and you are stranded in an elevator shaft. In it you jump down once and then climb through the door gap to the fourth floor (there is no other way). You enter a dark hallway with a vending machine in front of you. Hit it and grab the next coin from the change compartment.
23. Rhode Island Coin: Finally daylight once more! After a short slide there is a chasm to your left. Continue straight ahead over the door lying on the ground. There is a small ledge that you jump down. Continue past the seats to the part that looks like a bar. Behind the counter of this bar, right next to the culvert, you will find coin number 23.

24. Missouri Coin: Abby has to swim to the hospital. Back on land she goes through a gate and makes some small talk. At the end of the cutscene you need to turn right behind the ambulance. You walk through tall grass and then enter the building through a broken window at ground level. Inside the building, look left at the bottom of the row of windows and you’ll find the next coin at the back: Missouri.
Seattle Tag 2 – Ground Zero
25. Münze Washington: Follow Nora through the hospital. You go down a flight of stairs and following Nora has checked whether the coast is clean, you enter a hall. Keep left and you will see a white tiled counter behind which you have to go. At the back, next to a receipt printer, you will discover the Washington coin.
26. Coin Hawaii: After a boss fight, you crawl through a shaft on your stomach and are rudely disturbed by a remnant of the said fight. Once you’ve celebrated your reunion with adequate firepower, go through a door and you’re now in the parking garage. On the left you can already see a car park attendant cabin. Break the disc and grab the coin.
Seattle Day 3 – The Marina
27. Kansas Coin: After the cutscene that leads to the new chapter, you turn around. There you will see blue decorated steps that form a lookout post. Now go to the right up to the concrete stairs and follow them up the few steps onto the small platform. Then move just a little bit to the left until you reach the rounding of the pedestal. There on the floor is the coin.
28. Louisiana Coin: An old glass elevator takes you back down. You walk down a short, curved staircase that turns into a concrete ramp and walk towards the next visible building (not the “tower” you just came down from, but the one in the background, “Lenora ST. Station”). Trot past the wheelchair ramp on the right around the corner. The next coin is under the blue awning in the middle on the ground.
Seattle Day 3 – The Island
29. Coin Idaho: You climb up a ladder. When you get to the top, there’s a truck on your left that’s open at the back. Hop in and grab the coin from the back left corner on the ground.
30. North Carolina Coin: You continue to follow Yara across the island following gazing at Haven from afar. When Yara notices the Scars’ alarm signal with concern, it’s only a few meters to a car. Walk past it until the two come to a waterfall.
Don’t jump down yet (otherwise you won’t get back up!), but look around. To the left of the waterfall, another car is parked once morest a tree with the back left door open. The coin is on an open book on the ground next to the car, right where the door is open.

31. Montana Coin: You come through a logging camp and then walk up a small hill to a building in front of which there is a wagon. To get to the top, push the wagon under the hatch in the gable. A cutscene and a small skirmish follow. Now explore the area in peace. Opposite the sawmill is a house with two torches at the entrance. Across from this you see another building with stacked logs in front of it.
A large brown cloth hangs on one of the piles. There is a large hatch in the roof of the house, which you can easily reach via the tree trunks. Go left. Another hatch gives you a view of the only building with a thatched roof. To your right is a box with jute sacks on it. Your penultimate coin is also on the corner of the chest.
Seattle Day 3 – The Escape

32. Arkansas Coin: You exit a general store and squeeze through a crack to get outside. There is a Harstine Brewery truck on the small road ahead. Before you crawl under the truck, be sure to turn left to collect the last coin in the game behind the shopping cart.
A notification regarding the receipt of the trophy “Numismatist” pops up immediately in the top left of the picture. Congratulations!
