The animal is staying at Edinburgh Zoo’s Penguin’s Rock. It was the Major General of the Norwegian Royal Guard who had the honor of decorating Sir Nils Olav.
The world’s most decorated new animal had been adopted by the Royal Guard and was knighted in 2008 with the consent of King Harald V of Norway.
“His promotion last August, for his good behavior and for being a superb example to the rest of Edinburgh Zoo’s penguins, is a milestone in his career as the guard’s mascot,” says Staff Sergeant Fredrik Gresseth .
