Rock band Green Day has sold T-shirts featuring former US President Donald Trump to raise relief funds for victims of the Maui wildfires. They recreated the cover of the 1997 “Nimrod” album, but replaced photos of Frederick Banting and insulin co-discoverer Charles Best with the former US president’s frowning face, with the caption in a yellow circle, Access Showbiz reports. com.
Referring to their 1997 classic “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life),” Billie Joe Armstrong and the rest posted a photo of the design on Instagram: “Good Riddance. The Ultimate Nimrod Shirt is only available for 72 hours. Proceeds from the limited edition t-shirts will be donated to @greatergoodmusiccharity, which provides food to those affected by the Maui bushfires.
The rock band “American Idiot” is among a group of stars who have helped raise money for those affected by the deadly wildfires in Hawaii, including Jason Momoa, Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bezos and Dwayne Johnson.
Meanwhile, Trump released his own photo that is said to have raised a whopping $7.1 million for his campaign to run for president once more in 2024. His campaign team used the snap to start selling items of his likeness, and the former reality TV star also posted the photo on his X profile.
The post was Trump’s first post on the social media app, formerly Twitter, since January 2021, and the post also included a link to his official website. His portrait has already been plastered on various merchandise, including T-shirts, coffee mugs and bumper stickers.
Trump and 18 other defendants were given until August 25 to surrender voluntarily, following they were accused of overturning the election results.
