Quick tour at Gigabyte which announces its new series of Z790 X motherboards. As a reminder, Intel will soon launch its processors of 14th generation and you need a series of cards to accommodate it. Z790 X, what’s new at Gigabyte?
If we are to believe the brand, the latter has worked hard on its cards in order to improve them. We will then retain the new functionalities related to theOC memory (already present on Z690 and Z790) with different options:
DDR5 Auto Booster : pushes native DDR5 5600 MT/s to 6000 MT/s
DDR5 XMP Booster : pushes DDR5 modules to the highest profile (up to 8266 MT/s)
High-Bandwidth Mode : Increases DDR5 bandwidth, which amounts to boosting frequencies.
Low-Latency Mode : shortens the latencies.
Otherwise, we learn that the brand’s cards feature a new PCB of “server quality” on six to ten layers. The latter makes it possible to reduce signal losses, which is very practical in overclocking. Finally, the memory tracks have also received a memory polish. The Aorus Xtreme X runs DDR5 at 8266 MT/s without errors.

Of course, we learn that new cooling options have emerged. We are talking regarding a heatsink VRM bigger with thermal pads up to 12 W/mK. Ditto on the M.2 side with cooling systems with aluminum fins and heat pipes. Gigabyte evokes temperatures of 50°C max on the SSD PCIe 5.0 fastest. Even the I/O Shield passes through it with vents drilled into the back plate, this allowing a reduction of 7°C in temperatures, it seems.
Improvements ” quality of life » or DIY :
There, we are talking regarding small improvements facilitating the assembly/disassembly of the PC. Indeed, the brand offers screwless M.2 / M.2 heatsink mounting systems as well as levers PCIe bigger and easier to reach.

The brand’s biggest motherboards also feature 10 GbE Ethernet parts via AQtion Marvell chips. This concerns the Z790 Xtreme X and Master X. The other cards will have to make do with 2.5 GbE Ethernet.
Finally, the Thunderbolt 4 is present with two connectors. They will be able to provide 40 Gbps.
The costs :
Well, in the story, what hurts the most are the selling prices. Thus, the Z790 Aorus XTreme X will be displayed at $999.99 once morest $549.99 for the Aorus Master X. Then we have the Aorus Pro X and Elite X WiFi7 at $389.99 and $289.99 respectively. Finally, we finish with the Z790 Aorus Elite X AX at $279.99.
For the moment, the prices of Tachyon X, queen ofoverclocking and Elite X and B760M Aorus Elite X AX are not known.
