[서울경제TV=윤혜림기자] Samsung Electronics is releasing a new SD card and micro SD card with enhanced speed and stability, ‘PRO Ultimate’.
The ‘PRO Ultimate’ product family is a memory card that provides the optimal solution for professional photographers and creators, and provides stable performance not only for smooth operation of high-capacity contents, but also for repetitive data reading, writing, and erasing operations.
This product family provides up to 200MB/s read speed and 130MB/s write speed, the highest level of UHS-I standards, and supports stable read/write speeds regardless of product capacity.
The ‘PRO Ultimate’ product line satisfies the video speed class V30, so it can transmit high-capacity files such as 4K UHD and FHD videos quickly.
In the case of a micro SD card, A2 grade is separately supported to smoothly support continuous reading/writing and multitasking.

Samsung Electronics has also enhanced reliability by strengthening the ‘ECC (Error Correction Code) engine’ of the controller in this product line. LDPC (Low Density Parity Check), a type of ECC, has been improved from the existing 1KB to 2KB so that consumers can use it longer without worrying regarding data loss.
In addition, the ‘PRO Ultimate’ product line safely protects data in extreme external environments such as waterproofing, dropping, abrasion, X-rays, magnetic fields, and temperature changes, and can withstand shocks of up to 1,500g in the case of SD cards.
Samsung Electronics applied a 28-nano controller to this product lineup, improving power efficiency by up to 37% compared to the previous one. As a result, consumers are expected to be able to use the device for a long time without frequent recharging.
In addition, the ‘PRO Ultimate’ lineup provides compatibility with various devices.
The ‘PRO Ultimate’ SD card is compatible with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, camcorders, PCs, and laptops, and can quickly create, edit, and transfer high-end content on multiple devices.
The ‘PRO Ultimate’ micro SD card provides the best solution for professional videographers and creators by providing compatibility with a wide range of devices such as smartphones, tablets, portable game consoles, action cams, drones, and PCs.
“As the amount of high-resolution content generated by devices such as drones, action cams, and DSLR cameras increases, professional creators must be able to work with large-capacity content without interruption,” said Son Han-gu, managing director of the Brand Product Biz Team of Samsung Electronics’ memory division. ‘PRO Ultimate’ will meet the needs of professionals as well as creators through enhanced speed and stability, such as new controllers and data protection features.”
A 10-year warranty period is applied to the ‘PRO Ultimate’ product range.
