Aug 28, 2023 | The Cielo Tierra Hombre Traditional Chinese Arts Center of Nueva Esparta invites the general public to celebrate World Qigong Day with an exhibition of Qigong for Health that will take place on Saturday, September 9 at the Guaiqueríes Arena Gym in La Asunción and to share the approval for the appointment of Shifu Omar Pericles Paredes, director of the institution, as president of the Venezuelan Qigong Association.
Qigong or Chikung, as it is also called, is the art of training the body and moving vital energy through breathing and movement. Its practice is very simple, accessible at any age, there is no limit: children, the elderly and the disabled can receive the benefits of this art, because it is a tool to make health available to everyone, with a very soft level of impact and As demanding as some movements may seem, they are very smooth, explains Master Pericles. In Nueva Esparta, there are many generations of practitioners of traditional Chinese arts and currently Cielo Tierra Hombre, which began its activity in 2002, has 78 students in different modalities of traditional arts.
DESERVED PROMOTION
Those who know the trajectory of Shifu Pericles Paredes, with an experience of more than 35 years in the practice of Traditional Chinese Arts, welcome his appointment as president of the Venezuelan Qigong Association and his projection as leader of the institution at an international level, highlighting the work he has developed from the CAT Cielo Tierra Hombre, chapter of Nueva Esparta, which brings together almost a hundred practitioners.
Reaching this position, as he himself revealed, has meant spending years of tests, examinations, complying with procedures and protocols before the directors of the World Qigong Federation, the World Association, and the Latin American Association of Qigong for Health headed by Master Benjamin Gutierrez and Jorge Quinones. These institutions since 2010 have been going through a process of updating and renewal, following the guidelines drawn from Beijing, China, separating the Taoist religious content, from what is the principle of Qigong for Health, as physical training, without mysticism, nor indoctrination, but as a generator of well-being for the life of the human being, from the scientific field.
With this important advance, the Center for Traditional Chinese Arts Cielo, Tierra Hombre of Venezuela, becomes part of the international arena and has an image in the world, aligned with 80 countries that make up the Qigong Association and Federation. It should be noted that it was Shifu Saúl Terán, national founder of CATCH Cielo Tierra Hombre, who, as a vote of confidence, proposed his outstanding student to take on this challenge and carry out such responsibility, with a view to developing this project in Venezuela.
QIGONG DAY PROGRAM
The Guaiqueríes Arena Covered Gymnasium in La Asunción will be the setting for the Qigong Day events, this Saturday, September 9 from 9 to 11 in the morning with free admission for the public.
Also that day there will be transmission via Online by the VooV channel, worldwide, of Qigong for Health, from Beijing with the participation of Master Wuzhipeng, general director of the World Federation of Qigong for Health.
On Sunday the 10th via the ZOOM platform, Shifus Saúl Terán and Pericles Paredes will speak regarding Qigong for health and will give a demonstration of exercises for the Latin American public. They are still in the process of coordinating schedules that will be announced in a timely manner.
