A Florida man, identified as Xuming Li, He was arrested and accused of injecting a chemical substance with a syringe under the door of his neighbors’ apartment, an act that was recorded in a video that was made public this week.
Xuming Li, 36, is seen in the video that has gone viral, injecting a liquid under the door of the family of Omar Abdullahin the urbanization Oxford Place in the Tampa Palms neighborhood, on several occasions, according to the Tampa Hoy news portal.
After moving into her new condo in June 2022, Omar Abdullah and his future wife were ready to welcome their daughter. But soon following, her downstairs neighbor Xuming Li started texting her, complaining regarding the noise.
In text messages Li said I mightn’t sleep and I might hear the toilet seat being moved.
After months of these discussions, nausea and vomiting began for Abdullah and his family.
“I look at my daughter, and her eyes were full of tears. She wasn’t crying, but her eyes were full of tears.”, Abdullah said.
While the family was on vacation, a friend dropped off a package at the house and told her that smelled the chemicals and when they came back they smelled it too.
Abdullah reviewed air conditioners, air ducts and vents looking for where the smell came from, but they got nothing. She even called the fire department.
So he decided to install a hidden camera outside the house, on one floor.
One day he noticed that his daughter was sick once more, He checked the hidden camera, and it showed his neighbor Li crouching in front of the front door.l, but the angle wasn’t clear enough to tell what was going on.
Abdullah said he waited until his daughter got sick once more, then once more reviewed the footage and saw his neighbor taking out a syringe, filling it with liquid and then injecting the liquid into the crack in the door frame.
“The first thing that came to mind was my daughter and my wife,” Abdullah remembered. “They needed to be safe.”
He took his family out of the house and then called the police. Li was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including possession of a controlled substance and robbery.
They ran a test and found that the chemical agent contained methadone and hydrocodone, opioid painkillers.
Li is out on bail and his next hearing is on December 5. She also faces domestic violence and condominium association breach of contract lawsuits.
The defense lawyer said that he pleaded not guilty and that all the facts will be known in due course.
“A neighbor who supposedly, who is apparently a normal guy, would come and hurt us with chemicals, and that was very scary for us”Abdullah said.
