The long political careers of Sabine Laruelle and François Bellot are slowly coming to an end. The two Namur liberals (Gembloux for one, Rochefort for the other) now sit in the Parliament of Wallonia. In view of the 2024 elections, they have made their decision: if they will both remain at the disposal of their party, with great popularity in their strongholds, they will no longer seek new mandates.

Their legitimacy remains total. The former Federal Minister of Agriculture and the former Federal Minister of Transport have therefore agreed to express themselves personally on their feelings regarding the current political climate. Without jargon and without wanting to give lessons to their peers, but with the concern to share their experience and their view of the exercise of democracy in our country. With also a touch of regret or annoyance: “We are button presses”, they repeat in chorus.
