A breach that costs 80,000 euros to Totalnergies Electricité Gaz France (TEEGF). The company was sentenced this fine by the Dispute Resolution and Sanctions Committee of CRE, the Energy Regulatory Commission.

The group is sanctioned “for not having complied on seven occasions with its obligation to publish privileged information in due time concerning the unavailability of electricity production capacity between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020. The sanction relates to only on delays in publication, no use of privileged information on the markets having been noted”.

“Undermining the proper functioning of the market”

“A breach of the obligation to publish in good time “inside information” constitutes by itself, whatever its circumstances and its consequences, an attack on the proper functioning of the market” explains the CRE which “welcomes this decision which confirms that the proper functioning of the wholesale market requires the greatest rigor on the part of its players”.

The investigation was opened in March 2021.
