Less greening and damage at Ropa

Ropa expands its range of diggers, with a model that separates clods and stones better, and presents new rollers for tamping ridges.

The manufacturer’s portfolio now welcomes a “DoubleSelect” version of the Keiler 2 trailed two-row harvester. waste channel and a sorting platform on the left side of the machine, along the third belt.

The height and working angle of this complementary UFK separator are adjustable, as is the separable speed of the different rows. “Separating stones and clods early from the product stream significantly reduces damage to potatoes, allowing the tubers to be harvested even more gently,” says Ropa. Each UFK can also be optionally equipped with rotating brushes.

This new version makes it possible to increase the work rate or reduce the number of sorters thanks to its mechanical separation qualities.

Avoid tuber greening

At the same time, Ropa is introducing new ridge press rollers, now offered as an option on the KS haulm toppers. The manufacturer is thus marketing an alternative to the pneumatic ridge rollers already in the shredder catalogue.

The main interest of these rollers is to close the cracks of the mound and to consolidate it slightly, so that the potatoes do not turn green following the crushing of the tops. The other advantage lies in the fact of being able to restructure the sides of the mounds to restore them to their original shape. “Thus, the structure of the mound is maintained and the quality of the harvest is ensured”, concludes the builder.
