Thomas Ramos : 5
Feverish under the first candle, he corrected the shot with a good cover in the middle of the first period, followed by a quick play catch that pleased the Stade de France this Sunday. Often used as the first attacker in the tricolor camp, he was perfect on foot until the break.
But he missed a penalty in his ropes at the start of the second half, sent a pass on the sidelines and missed the landing of a pin that resulted in Australia’s second try.
In short: It fell apart, its good performance becoming just OK.
Replaced in the 69th minute by Melvyn Jaminet, who closes the French victory (41-17) by more than 50 meters.
Damian Penaud : 6
He is absorbed by the opposing combination, on the first try of the Wallabies, then he misses a tackle at half an hour of play on a raise from the Australian rear. Author of his usual flashes, he scored an unopposed try, on receiving a pass at the foot of Dupont. More visible when the game was aerated, fatigue helping, he concluded with a second achievement, stamped with his seal.
In short: Permanent danger… but sometimes for both formations.
Gaël Fickou: 5.5
Good in defense, he signs an interception during the first act. He is also agile on a combination where Marchand serves him with a long throw into touch. Still less bloody in attack, he lost a ball on an uncontrolled “off-load” shortly following the break, but was also credited with great support for Jalibert.
In short: Not as explosive as when he started out, he fulfills his role as “dad” of the backs well.
Jonathan Danty: 7,5
He made the Ile-de-France public roar with excitement from his first percussion of the match. The second ? She was crowned with a try. Penaud’s essay also owes a great deal to its power, which has shown itself on many occasions. Add to that his ability to disrupt opposing rucks and you get a full match, only tainted by an obstruction indirectly at the origin of the first try conceded by the Blues.
In short: Indispensable bulldozer.
Gabin Villière : 5
He did not manage to conclude, in a corner, at the quarter of an hour of play. The Toulon winger suffered on the majority of the impacts, in defense in particular. Very messy, he ended up “saving” his match from a victorious dive. Forgotten by Woki shortly following, he might even have scored a double.
In short: Not enough to become an indisputable starter once more, but he has revved up.
Matthew Jalibert: 7
Discreet during the first forty minutes, he then did not weigh in the animation of the tricolor game, but without making any mistakes, especially in defense. If his complementarity with Dupont remains to be perfected, he showed a flashy glimpse of it on an action (see following), testifying to his rise in power in this match. Involved in Penaud’s test via a superb arm pass, the UBB opener finds Villière magnificently for his test.
In short: Correct as a manager, brilliant as a blaster: two facets of an attractive whole.
Antoine Dupont : 6
The captain of the XV of France was initially below his standards. Countered by Will Skelton at the start of the match, he was crunched just before the break, when the Blues were within 22 Australian meters, likely to make the break.
Then he improved his copy in a flash, quickly playing a penalty with mischief, before serving Jalibert in the interval, in the 52nd minute. Three points for his own and a yellow for the Wallabies at stake. He ends with an offering at the foot to Penaud.
In short: Fair to good when he pressed the accelerator.
Replaced by Baptiste Couilloud in the 60th minute.
Charles Ollivon : 6
Very present in a ton of register. Always as skilful with the ball in hand, we feel that he can lengthen his stride at any time and make the link between forwards and three-quarters, while not reluctant to put his head in the rucks.
In short: True to itself.
Grégory Alldritt : 6.5
Number 8 from La Rochelle was good in the aerial field. He also gave the impression of always dragging where it was needed, to recover a hazardous pass or put the forward gear back. The French supporters acclaimed him at the height of the framework he has become.
Replaced by Paul Boudehent in the 65th minute.
Francois Cros: 6
He did a lot of defensive work and still did a lot of useful little things. Less in verve than his two friends in the third line, offensively, he is part of the complementarity, in terms of profile. Like Anthony Jelonch, who will have a lot to do to reintegrate the starting XV.
In short: His defensive volume is remarkable.
Paul Willemse : 5
The Montpellier second line signed a performance without relief or hitch. It is no longer as powerful as during its first selections, where it was an offensive weapon. Willemse will have the task of raising the cursor.
In short: The job is done, while waiting for better during the World Cup (from September 8 to October 28).
Replaced by Romain Taofifenua in the 48th minute.
Thibaud Flament: 5.5
More active than during his recent outings, he did not show himself to be monstrous, as he had been able to be during the last Tournament. He is a significant control tower in touch, but that, Woki also knows how to be.
In short: We have not yet found the flamboyant Flament of the 6 Nations.
Cameron Woki replaced him in the 48th minute and immediately countered a ball into touch, 5 meters from the tricolor in-goal.
Win Anthony : 5,5
His impressive size is an asset in every maul and he is a constant threat on his cut races. This Sunday once more, for the last preparation match of the Blues, he did badly in this register. The Rochelais pillar was however twisted on the last scrum before half-time.
In short: Could do better, especially with this false note in melee.
Replaced by Dorian Aldegheri in the 48th minute.
Julien Marchand: 5
In a light rain, we got to know the Toulouse hooker more inspired in throwing, which contributed to an Australian highlight at the heart of the first act. Then he pulled himself together in this area, at the same time as the sun was re-pointing the tip of his nose. He made a significant scratch at the start of the second period.
In short: His status demands more.
Replaced by Peato Mauvaka in the 48th minute.
Jean-Baptiste Gros: 5
The left pillar of the RCT, in balance with Reda Wardi to wear the number 1 of the Blues once morest the All Blacks in twelve days in the absence of Cyril Baille on injury, did not know how to show off too much. The French scrum concedes in particular a penalty which had turned on its side, in the first period. However, he did not miss his match.
In short: The competition is in full swing.
Replaced by Sébastien Taofifenua in the 48th minute.
